BRASILIA, February 1, 2012 – The team of the Information System for Children and Adolescents (SIPIA) met today with members of the National Observatory for the Rights of Children and Adolescents and the Brazilian Center of Youth Protagonism (CPJ) to evaluate the implementation of service and information flow management of the Program to Protect Children and Adolescents at Risk of Death (PPCAAM) in all states and at the national level. Today's meeting is part of a series of meetings organized by the National Program and the Federal Technical Nuclei, in the months of February and March, with the aim of promoting coordination between the different actors of the Network for the Protection of the Rights of Children and Adolescents aiming to expand and consolidate improvements in pending cases, as well as the systematization of procedures to facilitate the collection of data and indicators that support decision making in the area and management of national policy.…Read more
ANÁPOLIS, January 31, 2012 - The expansion of Youth Network for Sports (REJUPE) in the 12 host cities of the 2014 World Cup is growing stronger every day with the support of governmental actors, civil society organizations and groups of adolescents working towards a common goal in each city. The series of local meetings of REJUPE, that begins in Salvador (BA) on February 13th and 14th, aims to initiate a process of awareness of adolescents and local managers of governmental and non governmental organizations, on the need of guaranteeing the right to sports in order to create opportunities of collaborative actions among these actors and adolescents, so as to foster the creation of initiatives and programs aimed at enhancing the social legacy of the mega-sporting events in Brazil.…Read more
ANÁPOLIS, January 31, 2011 – Finding creative and innovative solutions for day-to-day needs, to facilitate and encourage interaction within our society by nourishing artistic talents, is one of the greatest challenges today. Through its courses in arts and culture, the International Conservatory of the Arts seeks to provide training of excellence beyond the classroom, using a methodology which includes exposure through dialogue, entertainment and directed construction of concepts of the topics covered by practical action. In 2012, the Conservatory, the result of the partnership between Goiás State University (UEG) and IIDAC, offers new courses in the areas of International Culture, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Music and Dance. The courses in theater, contemporary dance, music theory, English, Spanish and French language are now joined by classes of Russian language, expressive gymnastics, breakdancing, stamping dance, street dance, belly dancing, painting on canvas, chanting and beatboxing. The registration period closes on February 10th and the start of classes is scheduled for February13th. This novel cultural space now offers a class to train teachers in folk traditions and popular cultural manifestations of the Brazilian state of Goiás through different techniques of reflection and artistic playfulness that can be used subsequently in the classroom as a way of appreciation of the intangible cultural heritage of Goiás.…Read more
ANÁPOLIS, January 30, 2012 – The opportunity to share learning experiences within the framework of South-South cooperation towards effective implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the approximation between the Portuguese-speaking countries led to the efforts of the Associação Par (Portugal), IIDAC and the Volunteer Program of the Government of Cape Verde, in cooperation with the CPLP - Community of Portuguese Language Countries, to promote an exchange of experiences and youth activism in support of the MDGs. MDG Campus Challenge, in universities across Brazil, Portugal and Cape Verde, will mobilize volunteer teams towards actions to promote the MDGs in communities as well as the train facilitators who will act as the focal points of the project in the three countries. Among the actions planned by MDG Campus Challenge is an International Seminar of University Volunteers aimed at exchanging key practices and innovative projects to enable the creation of a network of university cooperation for development among CPLP countries. The experience of IIDAC in the implementation and monitoring of MDG Universities, is recognized as a best practice nationally and internationally by various agencies of the UN system, as well as the recognition achieved by the Associação Par in previous editions of MDG’s Agency, and greets this new cooperation as a further contribution to achieving the MDGs by 2015.…Read more
